2018: The Year in Review

What an amazing year 2018 has been for Visit Greater St. Cloud! We have seen major events, wonderful stories, local heroes and so much more throughout the year, that it’s impossible to capture it all. But here’s a quick snapshot looking back at an unforgettable 2018, and looking forwards to an equally memorable 2019 with #VisitStCloud!

In January, Hockey Day Minnesota graced St. Cloud, and what an event that was. Thousands of attendees, amazing hockey action, unique winter fun, right here at Lake George. We are so thankful for the opportunity to have hosted this great event, and we thank the community so much for welcoming it into our home!

In June, hundreds and thousands of quilting enthusiasts, artists, vendors and more gathered at the River’s Edge Convention Center for three days of learning, sharing, networking and a little fun for the 2018 Minnesota Quilter’s Association annual meeting. The passion, talent and creativity of these artists amazed us!

July brought St. Cloud into the national spotlight with the USA BMX Land ‘O Lakes National event at Pineview Park BMX. This event drew top BMX athletes from all over the nation to compete in this Pro Series event. Local hero and Olympian Alise Post Willoughby and her husband Sam were even in attendance!

Some of the nation’s fittest athletes arrived in St. Cloud in September for Kill Cliff Granite Games 2018. This event showcased the best of the best in Crossfit competition at St. Cloud State University, and poured thousands of people into the area to eat, play, shop and stay in between competing.
