A woman who has fought for her freedom against all odds, but now faces the impossible decision—cling to the life she’s built and hope the Gods avert disaster, or abandon it all at the first hint of danger? A broken warrior, tormented by his past, who made a promise to protect those he loves. But can he keep that promise when faced with the chaos of impending doom—and his own shattered mind? A young girl who longs for adventure, even if that means leaving the safety of the home she’s always known. Civil servants and sycophants—with Pompeii’s future in doubt, will anyone remain in the doomed city…or will self-preservation win the day?

As the volcanic tremors intensify, these individuals must ultimately make a choice that will define their lives—or end them. In the end, what will matter?
