About Sand Prairie Wildlife Management & Environmental Education Area

The 700 acres of Sand Prairie Wildlife Management and Environmental Education Area encompass two major wetland restorations, a tract of restored prairie, native prairie brushland, and woods. Beavers, sandhill cranes, trumpeter swans white-tailed deer, fox, green herons, sandhill cranes, trumpeter swans, American woodcock, blue-winged teal, and a variety of warblers are just a few of the wildlife species that can be seen from the observation deck and along the prairie trails.

DIRECTIONS

  • Sand Prairie is near the southeastern edge of Saint Cloud, south of Co Rd 7. Signs mark the entrance on the east side of Hwy 10 at its junction with Minnesota Blvd. (45.54245, -94.10949)
