About Mississippi River County Park

Mississippi River County Park was acquired in 1973. The Park is made up of 230 acres along 1.3 miles of the Mississippi River. One-third of the park is forested. A future goal is to re-establish native plant communities throughout the park.

The Park is open year round from 6 AM to 11PM; Shelters are open 8 AM to 10 PM

Directions

Mississippi River Park is 6 miles north of Sartell on County Road 1.

Disk Golf Course

There is an 18-hole Disc Golf course located near the large shelter. This course is maintained during the summer for disk golfers to enjoy. Disc Golf Course Map/Card

Archery Range

The Archery Range is typically open from May to October. Shooting hours are 30 minutes before sunrise and 30 minutes after sunset. Persons using this public range do so at their own risk.

Picnic Facilities

There are several picnic areas with tables and grills throughout the park.

Shelter Fees

  • $60.00 per day
  • 50% surcharge for weddings

Cross Country Skiing

  • No ski permit or parking permit required
  • Outhouse on the northern loop
  • Excellent trails for beginners and intermediate skiers

Winter Ski Trail conditions

Camping

Group camp: Mississippi River County Park offers group camping for bona fide youth groups and educational groups (e.g. Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Church youth groups, 4-H Clubs, etc.). Advance notice is required; please contact the Park Office for more information.

Canoe campsite: The canoe campsite is accessible from the river. Camping is allowed for those traveling by canoe and limited to one night of camping.

Bicycle campsite: Camping is allowed for those traveling through on bicycles and limited to one night of camping. The bicycle campsite is located by the fire pit near the picnic shelter.
