In order to give the Oversight Committee an idea of what this event would look like in St. Cloud, we invite you to take a look around. In partnership with St. Cloud State University we are eager and ready to host MBLGTACC 2021!

Theme

Radical Love: Self, Others, Community.

Attendees of the conference through speakers, activities, conference sessions, and networking will be able to gather information and resources on how to practice support and solidarity.  This support and solidarity will be focused on how to do it for oneself as a queer and/or trans individual, how to practice it with peers and friends, and then how to engage with it both within as well as outside the community.

Topics

We propose these three topics to be highlighted in 2021 as we focus on how they relate to ones self, those around them, and the community in which they live.

  • Self-care
  • Solidarity building
  • Taking/creating space

St. Cloud State University is the proposed venue as it is a leading comprehensive public university in the Upper Midwest of the United States that is dedicated to supporting LGBT+ individuals. It will make for the perfect backdrop for MBLGTACC 2021 and the efforts of Self-Care, Solidarity Building, and Taking/Creating Space that we hope to educate about during this event.

Keynotes and Large Gatherings will be held in the St. Cloud State Field House

These are simply proposed locations, there are many buildings on campus that would provide ample space for additional sessions, receptions, and activities. While using on-campus resources, and booked through the LGBT Resource Center, items such as venues will have minimal costs incurred.

With MBLGTACC 2021 happening in the early spring, this conference would fall into the SCSU LGBT Resource Center’s 20th year celebration. Throughout the year, we will be having various events celebrating the history of the center, the incredible work done by the campus and St. Cloud, and highlighting the multitude of identities as well as experiences in the LGBT+ community.  To not only host MBLGTACC, but also incorporate it into our year of celebration would be an incredible honor.
