Greater St. Cloud September Event Roundup

September has arrived, and so have cooler temps, less mosquitoes, and a ton of exciting events in Greater St. Cloud! Kids will love zoo visits, antique tractor parades and seeing their favorite comic characters come to life. Grown up will love all of the wine, beer, and cider fests as well as concerts, fishing tournaments, historic explorations, and more! September 7: Hemker Zoo Fall Fest

Come spend a fall day at the wildest place in Central Minnesota! Hemker Zoo Fall Fest offers discounted admission, apples and pumpkins for sale, face painting, bluegrass music, train rides, and ore! Plus, food will be available to purchase from the concession stand. Bring the kids out for a day of fall fun and the perfect opportunity to explore the zoo! September 7: St. Mary’s Cathedral Block Party

This free event includse live entertainment with Central Minnesota’s own DiamondBack as the main headliner.  Other family friendly events include bingo, children’s game, inflatables, silent auction and of course, lots of delicious food and beer garden – all right here in Downtown St. Cloud! September 7-8: Rice Art & Craft Show

There is nothing better for art and craft enthusiasts than a cool fall morning perusing a fair, and that’s exactly what the Old Creamery Cafe Art & Craft Show has to offer! Shop over 170 vendors, grab a bite to eat, and have a great day out with friends and family! It is free to attend and open to the public, so we will see you there!

September 11-14: Preserve MN Conference

Minnesota’s annual historic preservation conference, Preserve MN brings together historians, architects, archaeologists, advocates, and anyone else interested in Minnesota’s history together for three days of events in historic places across Minnesota. This year’s conference features tours of famous historic locations like the Stearns County Courthouse, Cathedral of St. Mary, The Paramount Theater, St. Cloud State, and even a tour of the Beaver Islands on the Mississippi River. Session topics range from renovation lessons to downtown tours with lessons on tax credits. Anyone interested in history, preservation, or even just looking for a unique experience is welcome to register!

September 13-15: Albany Pioneer Days 2019

Take a step back to the old days at the 45th Annual Albany Pioneer Days. Experience the vintage farmer way of life as you check out over 400 antique tractors. Feel like a pioneer when you visit the blacksmith shop, vintage post office, print shop, lumber mill, one-room schoolhouse, general store, and more. Check on the livestock with the kids at the petting zoo. Then grab some grub at one of many food stands, including the new menu at the saloon! September 14: Hungarian Harvest Festival & Grape Stomp

Join the Minnesota Hungarians & Millner Heritage Vineyard & Winery for the 6th Annual Hungarian Harvest Festival & Grape Stomp. This family friendly fun event is free to attend! Enjoy delicious, authentic Hungarian food, learn Hungarian folk dances, stomp some grapes, taste some wine, experience the petting zoo and other kids activities and more! No tickets necessary, but watch for updates on the event here!

September 14: Fall Crawl

Come out to the first annual ‘Fall Crawl’ where you can Run, Walk or Crawl your way through unlimited craft beer and wine tasting! A 5k-ish course will be set up so you can taste local brews and wines on the hill. Don’t worry if you don’t feel ambitious and just want to taste beer and wine. The course will have short cuts for those of us who would rather walk instead of run, and a village of breweries for those who don’t want to walk at all! September 20-22: St. Cloud PRIDE Weekend

This weekend is packed with family friendly activities as well as those for ages 21+, offering a ton of variety! Friday is the comedy show at Benton Station featuring Maggie Faris. Saturday kicks off with Pride in the Park, which includes yoga, music, tons of vendors, and even a puppy parade! Saturday evening is the St. Cloud Pride Drag Show starring Latrice Royale, followed by an after party at the Red Carpet Nightclub. September 21: Beaver Island Brewing Oktoberfest

Don your lederhosen for the 5th Annual Beaver Island Brewing Oktoberfest Celebration! From noon until 10pm in the Beaver Island Brewing Parking Lot, enjoy authentic German food, music, games, and of course beer! Register for the Steinhoist contest to see if you can hold your pitcher of water the longest. The winner will receive a $100 taproom gift card! September 21: St. Cloud Craft Beer & CiderFest

What if we told you that you can have unlimited 2oz samples of beer and cider, and you had 4 hours to do so? Challenge accepted! September 21: Midtown Madness

Come one, come all to Midtown Madness at Midtown Square! On September 21st from 10:30 AM-8:00 PM, Midtown Square will be hosting its Grand Reopening Event in the front parking lot and throughout the building. You, your family, and friends are invited to come and enjoy this free event including a kid zone, vendor booths, a beer garden, food, a car show, Wild Country 99, and a performance by Walter’s Wheelhouse, fun for the whole family! September 21-22: LionCon 2019

LionCon is a Geek and Counter culture convention. It started as an idea and now LionCon is a full blown annual event that features role-playing games, board games, card games, anime, computer games, cosplay and much more. September 25-29: St. Cloud State Homecoming

Homecoming is the St Cloud State University’s biggest red and black celebration of the year! It’s a chance to have fun on campus, reconnect with alumni, experience the St. Cloud community and celebrate what it means to be a Husky. Events kick off Wednesday September 25 and run through Saturday September 28, ranging from alumni gatherings to homecoming bonfires to – of course – a Husky football game! September 27-28: Thrive Women’s Conference

Thrive is the annual conference for Bridging the Gap, a statewide women’s ministry for Minnesota. The purpose of this all-women’s conference is to encourage, equip and empower every woman on her faith journey with Jesus Christ. This is a full weekend planned with powerful sessions, many giveaways, a Hope Celebration Session, shopping, tasty goodies, and more surprised for all women and their friends. Plus, featured guests include Lisa Bevere, Jasmine Murray, Lysa TerKeurst, Alex Seeley, & Emmanuel Live. Calling all kayak anglers! It’s time to mark your calendar for our popular Bronzeback Classic Kayak Fishing Tournament this summer. Join Clear Waters Outfitting to take part in one of the most well-run tournaments held on an amazing stretch of the Mississippi river for Smallmouth Bass fishing. September 28: Rocktoberfest 2019

September 29: Millstream Arts Festival

Millstream is an outdoor juried art festival featuring work by local and regional artists including original drawings and paintings, hand-crafted jewelry, high-end photography, hand-thrown pottery, custom leatherwork, upcycled art, glass, woven textiles, works by local authors and poets, and much more. Live music ranging from jazz to bluegrass and folk to eclectic, street performances, children’s art, exhibits and enticing, handmade foods round out this lively and beloved festival.
