Another horrifying haunt in Central Minnesota is the Harvest of Horror, This super scary event includes a haunted hayride, terrifying walk through the forest that leads into a corn field full of creepy crawlies, followed by a bone-chilling haunted house, and then back into the corn to find your way out! Not only can you spend a day visiting all of the wildlife at Pine Grove Zoo, but you can also enjoy bounce houses, pumpkin bowling, lawn twister, and even an inflatable zip line! At Zoo Fest, families with kids of all ages will enjoy a fun-filled day to celebrate the fall season. The fun starts at 11am and tickets are $7 each – which is less than normal general admission! As if a trip to an apple orchard/pumpkin patch/petting zoo isn’t fun already, Collegeville Orchards takes it up a notch with their annual Fall Festival! Bring the kids out for pumpkin painting, live music, wagon rides, cider press demonstrations, and more on a beautiful fall weekend. This is one of the most anticipated family-friendly events of the season! Hosted by the Stearns History Museum, Halloween Historia is a fun-filled day for the whole family, with hayrides, a petting zoo and treats plus the opportunity to learn some history on witches and witchcraft plus learn what your spirit animal is! There’s nothing quite like a DIII football game on a cool fall day at Clemens Stadium in beautiful Collegeville, Minnesota. Join Outdoor U educators and special guests on five designated hikes using the Nature of Saint John’s field guide. Along the hikes they will highlight various topics from the book chapters with interpretive talks and “reading the landscape.” The October 13th hike features the Old Road Trail, a 2-3 mike hike with guest expert Tom Kroll, forester and director emeritus at Outdoor U, leading the hike.
