Greater St. Cloud May Event Roundup

Spring has officially arrived in Central Minnesota, and it brings along a ton of great events happening all month long! If you’re a runner, then you’re in luck – Greater St. Cloud has more 5K races than we can even fit in the recap. Cycling or Cross Fit more your thing? May 2 – September 26: Bikes, Beers and Burritos

Every Thursday for 5 months, $10 can get you a beautiful bike ride, a big ole’ Bravo Burrito and a Beaver Island Brew! This is a great way to get out and see the area from a bike seat with other cycling enthusiasts, and also a good excuse to indulge in a delicious local burrito and a brew on a Thursday night. Plus, there are weekly prizes given away to participants after every ride as well. More information on the schedule and routes can be found hereso grab your bikes and get ready to roll!

May 4: May Day Frolic

May Day Frolic is a family-friendly downtown event to celebrate SPRING! Enjoy an afternoon strolling downtown St Cloud, visiting locally owned downtown businesses, and enjoying activities for kids, samples & special offers throughout the event! Plus, if you pick up a stampcard at your first stop and get a stamp at each location you visit you could win a prize basket filled with goodies from downtown business! May 10: Move & Groove 5K

What if we told you that you can run a locak 5k race that also includes live music, food and beverages, and fun family activities all for only $5? You would sign up right away, right?! Well then the 2019 Moove and Groove is the perfect event for you! Walk, jog, or run a 5K around the Lake George neighborhood, then end up back at the park for all kinds of spring festivities for participants of all ages. Ready to get moving and grooving? May 11: C. Willi Myles

Laughing is good for the soul, and veteran performer and extremely funny guy C. Willi Myles has the gift of connecting people through humor. An Alabama native with 10 siblings, Willi’s stories of his childhood and history of playing football are laced with funny, non-offensive anecdotes that everyone can relate to. C. Willi Myles visits the Paramount Theater for a performance to remember on May 11th – get your tickets here ASAP!

May 11: Spring Birding Day

Nothing says spring quite like a morning of birdsong in the great outdoors. Spring Birding Day at the St. John’s University arboretum is a great day to get out for a hike, a breakfast or lunch (depending on how early a riser you are), and learning about the dozens of species of birds that are native to the area! May 18: The Old Glory Run

Take the morning to honor the Disabled American Veterans of MN at the Old Glory Run. This inspiring morning of fitness and honor takes place in St. Joseph, and includes not only a kid’s 1k and a 5k, but all kinds of activities for the family. May 18: 4th Annual Maibock Festival

Get plenty of Beaver Island’s Maibock Helles Bock at the 4th Annual Maibock Celebration at the Beaver Island Brewing Company taproom. The day will be full of live music, festive German and Bavarian fare, and even two Stein Hold contests with fabulous prizes. General admission tickets are available in advance online here and will also be sold at the door day of. Finally, a reason to drink beer!

May 22: Wood Fired Wednesday Launch Party

Kick of the season of Wood Fired Wednesdays with the Launch Party featuring Michael Shynes! This event does include a cover charge of $15 in advance or $20 at the door, but the remainder of the season is free to attend. Bring  your grown up friends out for a night of live local music, great food and a huge variety of beverages at the gorgeous Rolling Ridge Wedding & Event Center in St. Joseph. May 25: Patio Sessions – Pachanga Society

What could be better than good music, a beautiful, springy atmosphere, and craft cider? Go on, we’ll wait. Come on out for the start of Patio Sessions featuring the Pachanga Society at Milk & Honey Ciders! Cover is $5 and there will be food (and cider, of course) available for purchase. May 30: Granite Games Championship

Granite Games is back with a new date and a new title. For the first time in history, Granite Games is officially a Crossfit Games qualifying event. Whether you’re an athlete, a fan, a volunteer or just curious, Granite Games is a spectacular event to check out, and will leave you feeling more motivated than ever to push yourself to the limits.
