Summer is all about festivals, family, friends, and fun! Greater St. Cloud has all of that and more to offer for the month of June. Every other Sunday starting June 9th, you can enjoy a one-of-a-kind musical experience at Munsinger Clemens Gardens. Music in the Gardens is a free concert from 3pm-5pm featuring local artists and the best views this side of the Mississippi. Join in and sing along with all the classic One Hit Wonders as the Fabulous Armadillos rock the stage. Summertime by George is back and ready to rock every Wednesday evening all summer long at Lake George. Don’t miss the kickoff party on June 12th, featuring music from Walter’s Wheelhouse and the Johnny Holm Band! Come hungry and browse the dozens of shopping and food vendors in Middletown Market. There’s just something about a small town festival that feels like summer. Avon Spunktacular Days is June 14th and 15th, featuring a car show on Friday, a 5k and Lady Slipper Nature Ride, open mic in the park, kids activities, a parade, and fireworks on Saturday, and live music both nights! Fill your week with some fun at the annual Foley Fun Days celebration. Monday kicks off with a 5K run/walk, a Mariachi band, and limbo. Tuesday features a Heavenly Hot Rod car show, a kiddie parade, family fun night, Mexico Lindo (a Mexican folkloric dance group), a fireman competition, and pinatas! With activities like a quilt auction and a tractor pull, you’ve just got to love a small town parish festival. The St. August Parish Festival is a two day extravaganza featuring a 5k, beer gardens and live music from Diamondback, tons of kids games, staples like bingo and a cake walk, plus of course the quilt auction and kids pedal tractor pull. The official kickoff to Granite City Days, the Lemonade Art Fair is one of the highlights of the summer in St. Cloud! Spread out across the St. Cloud State Campus, over 240 artists sell almost anything you can think of from pottery to homemade soap and baby blankets to metal signs. Plus, several food vendors serve up great grab-and-go eats, and the evening finishes with an outdoor concert and the Mayor’s official kickoff to GCD. Learn more here!
This year, Liberty Bank welcomes Grand Funk Railroad to the stage at Whitney Park for a celebration like no other. The Liberty Bank Block Party is an annual part of Granite City Days, and a can’t-miss event if you like to get down to some funky tunes. Fun fact: the Liberty Savings Bank location on 2nd Street South is home to The Vault, a collection of memorabilia from 30 years of past block parties and their headliner acts! Nothing screams summer like a long community parade, and that’s exactly what you can expect from the Granite City Days Parade! The fun starts at 10am and the parade route travels all around downtown St. Cloud. From 11am to 2pm on Sunday June 30th, kids can experience fishing, outdoor activities, prizes and entertainment – for free! This is a great opportunity for kids (and adults!) to experience fishing for maybe the first time in a safe, secure environment at no cost. All fishing gear and bait will be provided, along with several volunteers to show you a thing or two about reeling in the big one.
