Kick off the holiday season in Sauk Rapids! Join the 2018 Sauk Rapids Ambassadors at the VFW for kids bingo, pictures with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, and a silent auction, followed by a steak fry and meat raffle in the evening. Want to get moving? Join in the Trots for Tots 5K – it’s free to enter with a donation of a children’s toy! Don’t forget to dress in layers, the light parade starts at 5pm in downtown Sauk Rapids. Visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, create holiday crafts, and enjoy the music, activities, and treats of the holiday season at the Stearns History Museum. You can even design a masterpiece at the Cookie Decorating Station provided by Cold Spring Bakery. This event is $5 to attend, but museum members and children under 4 get in for free. This annual tradition at the St. Cloud Hospital is a simple but beloved part of the holiday tradition in St. Cloud. 2018 marks the 30th year of celebration! Thsi free event is open to the public, but attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for donation. The lighting ceremony will commence at 7pm, and there will also be horse-drawn wagon rides, reindeer, carols, a living nativity, visits with Santa & the Mrs. and more! Also known as a Christmas Market, this Germain-inspired tradition takes place downtown St. Cloud under the 5th Avenue parking ramp, just outside of the River’s Edge Convention Center. This is the perfect grown-up night out, with hot wine, cold beer, great food, entertainment and gift ideas. The annual St. Cloud winter festival is here! Festivities kick off on Friday with a winter carnival full of rides and fun, followed by a free Brat Pack Radio concert at the River’s Edge Convention Center. Saturday starts off with Winter Wonderland at Lake George, featuring crafts, games, visits with the Claus’s, and more. Then head downtown for the Nights and Lights parade down St. Germain Street. The CP Holiday Train program launched in 1999 and has since raised more than C$14.5 million and gathered 4.3 million pounds of food for communities along CP’s routes in Canada and the United States. This magical holiday tradition travels throughout the upper Midwest and Canada, making stops along the way to feature musical performances, holiday lights, and collect donations.
December 13th: Laughing All the Way
Back for another year of goofy fun, Laughing All the Way features the characters you love (Hank Hawkins and the Great Zipperelli) performing all new sketches and songs. Making spirits bright, this show is sure to get you in the holiday mood (among other things) and is the perfect way to spend a holiday date night, girls night out, or family get together! Nothing sings holiday spirit quite like the St. John’s Boy’s Choir, especially at St. Mary’s Cathedral in St. Cloud. Back for this beloved tradition, the boys will sing new and familiar carols, combining the talents of the SJBC Orchestra, the Heavenly Metal Handbells, and a special Alumni Chorus.
