The Dog Days of Summer are making their way into Central Minnesota, and with them they bring a continuous flow of great events to cap off the season with. 107th Annual Benton County Fair is July 30 – August 4, 2019 in Sauk Rapids, MN. The Fair includes animals, games, rides, food, shows, shopping and more fun for the whole family! Don’t miss grandstand shows like the demolition derby and motocross, and beer garden stage performances from the HoneyBadgers, IV Play, 32 Below, and more! Entrance into the fair is free, but you may have to pay for parking. This is great fun for the whole family and a chance to learn more about the local and regional farming community! MN Senior Games is an athletic competition for ages 50+ coming to St. Cloud, August 1-4. Registration is close, but attendance to cheer on the athletes at over 20 different events is welcome! Plus, if you’d like to get a full Senior Games experience, you may attend the Minnesota Senior Games Athlete Village Social on Saturday, 8/3 from 11-3pm at the Sauk Rapids Rice Middle School. The 40th Annual August Bluegrass Music Festival is here! Headliners include Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder, with appearances from Monroe Crossing, the Cay Hess Band, and more. The Minnesota Bluegrass & Old-Time Music Festival is held each year at El Rancho Mañana Campground in Richmond. The naturally shaded concert seating area and a beautiful main stage facility make the site one of the most beautiful in the bluegrass and outdoor music scene. Rain or shine, grab your family, friends and a blanket and head over to Whitney Sports Complex to enjoy a summer night under the stars! The movie will be held at Whitney Memorial Park on Field C-3 unless it’s raining, then it will move into the Whitney Recreation Center. Calling disc golfers of all skill levels! Now is your chance to have some fun and experience competitive play at the Disc Beyond Recreation Bag Tag Challenge! The temporary course will be constructed at Powder Ridge and include 18 holes. There is pre-registration available or you are welcome to register the day of the event.
