Ballet Floor Barre/Conditioning/Basic Technique

Ballet Floor Barre/Conditioning/Basic Technique, in partnership with GREAT Theater.
This four-week course will introduce students to basic ballet positions and exercises focusing on improving core, leg and feet strength as well as improving endurance and alignment. Most exercises will be on the floor (floor barre). However, the last portion of the class will include standing (center barre) and work on some the foundations of turns and jumps. The exercises in this class are based on ballet, Pilates, and yoga.
This class is beneficial to any student wanting to develop/improve any style of dance technique and should be taken in conjunction with other classes being offered. Improving physical strength, endurance and body awareness is beneficial to all dancers and actors.
Suitable for ages 14 and over. No previous dance experience required.
What to wear to class: Generally no buttons or zippers on clothing. Wear clothes that are comfortable to move in like, leggings, biker shorts, t-shirts, or other athletic wear.
What to bring to class: Students may want to bring a yoga mat for floor work as well as a strap, towel or resistance band to help facilitate stretching. In addition a water bottle, towel, positive attitude and a willingness to move.
