An Evening with Janis
August 28 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
One event on August 29, 2020 at 7:30 pm
Get ready to trip back in time with the sounds of hallucinogenic bluesy rock icon Janis Joplin. An Evening With Janis features vocalist Stacy Bauer with her soulful iron pipes and guitarist Mark “Hazzy” Hasbrouck with his insanely brilliant guitar work channeling the legend and her music as only they can.
In the first run of this show in 2009 Stacy and Hazzy impressed the members of Janis’ original band, Big Brother and the Holding Company, so much that on two separate occasions they were invited to join the band on a Midwest tour. Now, after playing together for well over 20 years, Bauer and Hasbrouck are bringing the original tribute show back for another run.
Every member of this group has individually made their marks on the local music scene, Stacy and Hazzy together most famously in Blimp (Led Zeppelin tribute), Powderfinger (Neil Young tribute), Wings Over America (Paul McCartney & Wings tribute) and the Stearns County Pachanga Society, et al. Stacy also performs with Rock and Roll Xmas Spectacular, Collective Unconscious (with a standout version of Oh! Darling in the Abbey Road show) as well as numerous other groups. Hazzy is best known for his psychedelic solos and songwriting for the legendary, genre-bending band The Surahoolies.
The rock-solid rhythm section of the band includes JR Spangler on keys (China Rider: Grateful Dead tribute), Andy Deckard on drums (BrassZilla, Collective Unconscious, Powderfinger, Toast in the Machine: Police & Sting tribute) and Andy Ferkinhoff on bass (White Iron Band, Friends of Yoder). Tickets
