GREAT 5-STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS IA • MN • ND • SD • WI
Champions in grades 4-7 from each regional site will be invited to the MN State Championship. Champions/Runners-up in grades 8-9 from each super section site will be invited to the MN State Championship. Other top finishers from regionals and super sections will receive an invitation to the Minnesota Invitational Tournament (MIT).

The MN State Champion and Runner-up in each grade are invited to the Great Five-State Championships at the Target Center in Minneapolis.
NEW for 2024! – Pacesetter Playoffs Changes
• Limited to 8 teams in each grade/gender group for grades 4-7 – 3 games per team
• Limited to 32 teams per day on 4 courts – am group and pm group – faster day
• Veteran teams get the first opportunity to claim one of the 8 spots
• 8th and 9th grade teams will play in 4 “Super Sections”: March 17 or March 24. Limit of 16
• MN State will be late March/early April in 2024 due to Easter March 31.
• Pacesetter Great 5-State will remain in the summer due to Lynx game collaboration.

Pacesetter Goals & Team Benefits
• Promote school/community TEAM basketball (eligibility guidelines can be found on website)
• Support school programs and head coaches
• Play faster – ½ day instead of all day
• Limit play to maximum of 3 games
• Assure most brackets will fill with 8 teams
• Make the MN State and 5-state system more exciting with more teams involved

Before November 1, invitations were sent to a select group of Pacesetter veteran teams – based on past participation.
After November 1, all remaining open spots will be offered to teams from the region.
After December 1, any remaining open spots will be offered to teams from other regions.
