About Dan Mondloch

Dan is a third generation painter of landscapes in watercolor, following in the footsteps of his parents and great grandfather. He loves the outdoors – exploring new things, feeling the mood of a place, and being in awe of the simple beauty of light all inspires him to paint. He started painting in high school under the mentorship of his dad, then he went to college to become an art teacher. In his last semester he switched to a BFA in painting. Then he painted houses for a while.
Three years ago, he hung up the big brush for the little brush and thanks all of the community’s support, he hasn’t looked back since. Currently he is doing freelance, art shows and exhibitions, teaching around the state of MN, and doing the occasional mural. He is fascinated with watercolor painting and art in general, and feels fortunate to be able to have a life making things.
