It is always the perfect season for you and your dog(s) to get outside and enjoy the beautiful walking trails in Greater St. Cloud! Choose your own adventure, with riverside walks on the Beaver Island Trail, or a stroll through the woods surrounding Warner Lake. There is something for everyone and their four-legged best friends to enjoy!

All trails require dogs to be leashed, please remember to clean up after your dog and stay on the marked trails.

Mayhew Creek Park

Mayhew Creek Park is a nature preserve and is the largest park in Sauk Rapids. It features a recreational trail that is just over 1 mile long.

Jail Trail

The Jail Trail is a 2.7-mile-long loop through the woods near the St. Cloud prison. With views of the stone prison wall and beautiful woodland, this is the perfect trail for a long afternoon walk!

Beaver Island Trail is one of the best-known trails in Greater St. Cloud! The trail takes you past St. Cloud State University, along the Mississippi River, and to River Bluffs Regional Park.

Warner Lake County Park

If you are looking for a walk through the woods, Warner Lake County Park is the perfect spot! The trail winds around Warner Lake, so you can enjoy views of the water while taking in the beauty of the woods. The park also has picnic areas, a beach, and a prairie restoration site!

Quarry Park and Nature Preserve

Quarry Park and Nature Preserve is one of the most famous parks in Greater St. Cloud! You can easily spend all afternoon exploring the 638 acres of trails, woodlands, and more! Take a swim after your walk to cool down and enjoy the natural beauty of the Quarries.

Sand Prairie Wildlife Management Area

Sand Prairie Wildlife Management Area has 700 acres of wetlands, prairie, and woods. The area is filled with animals such as beavers, sandhill cranes, swan’s, deer…you get the idea!

Sand Prairie is near the southeastern edge of Saint Cloud, south of Co Rd 7. Signs mark the entrance on the east side of Hwy 10 at its junction with Minnesota Blvd.

Lake George Park

Lake George is the perfect location for a short walk through the city. Located near downtown, you can enjoy the small lake, fountains and the seating areas spread throughout the park.

Kraemer Lake-Wildwood County Park

Kraemer Lake Wildwood County Park is in St. Joseph and has 265 acres to explore located along ½ mile of lake frontage. Fun Fact: the MN County Biological Survey identified Kraemer Lake as a significant remnant natural community with trees that are 300 years old!

River Bluffs Regional Park is located on the Mississippi River and is over 190 acres! The park features hiking trails through the woods and connects to the paved Beaver Island Trail.
